Unboxing/Review: Bellabox October 2015

2015-10-21 14.04.51

Hi guys!

Today I’ll be unboxing and reviewing my first ever Bellabox which arrived on my door step yesterday. I had high expectations and hopes especially because this is their Birthday Box, however they weren’t really met! I’m not sure if I’m just too fussy or whatever, but keep on reading if you’d like to know what was in the box. I also apologise in advance for the semi-fail photos.

Unboxing/Review: Beauteque Mask Maven April 2015

2015-04-23 15.23.15

Hi guys! So today I’m going to be reviewing Beauteque’s Mask Maven Bag. If you don’t know what this is, it’s a monthly subscription service which features the latest asian skincare products (masks) straight to your doorstep. It’s quite similar to all the beauty boxes out there, except this one is just for masks; the masks vary each month from sheet masks, hand and feet masks, hair masks, and wash-off masks. Although this company is based in the US, the offer shipping to a wide range of countries (YES! this is the biggest pro for me): US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. In my opinion this bag if perfect for busy people who don’t have the time to go out and shop for skincare whenever they feel like it – instead you can try out new products every month for a low price.

Unboxing: Lust Have It! February Box.

*UPDATE AS OF NOW: I’VE BEEN CONSISTENTLY DISAPPOINTED IN LHI’S SERVICE. Please click here to see my review of  their terrible service & be aware!*

Hi guys,

So I FINALLY received my Lust Have It! box about last week, which was half way through March already which was really annoying. It would have made it up if the contents of the box was somewhat good, however it was terrible, especially when compared to last months’ box. More so, I didn’t receive mine in the toiletry bag which is a let down because I was actually looking forward to having another and I had a missing item.

* For those of you who don’t know what Violet Box is, it’s a monthly subscription in which you pay $22.95 per month to get a box filled with 4-6 samples (full sized products aren’t guaranteed).

2015-03-23 12.39.43So I received this foundation which is way too light for me, as I normally am a medium and had that in my profile which is super disappointing. I also went on their facebook page and they were clearing this foundation off for $10, so this RRP is a bit misleading. Not to mention this smells horrible like plastic.

2015-03-23 12.40.04

Natural Glamour Foundation in ‘Light’. RRP: $29.95.

The brush of this liquid liner is really flimsy so it’s hard to draw a precise line, don’t think I’ll be using this because I’ve got my Rimmel one which is, needless to say, much better.

2015-03-23 12.40.29

Designer Brands: Liquid Eye Liner. RRP: $8.99

Probably the only item I am mildly excited about in the box which is a deluxe sample. It claims to ‘exfoliate the skin’s surface and inside the pores which improves skin cell turnover rate’. So will definitely try this out.

2015-03-23 12.40.39

Paula’s Choice Skincare: Skin Perfecting BHA Liquid Exfoliate. RRP (of 30mL sample): $12.

We received an Ulta lip liner, which is a cheap, pharmacy brand in Australia. My lips are super sensitive and when I put this on stupidly, it make my lips sting after I removed it (note, I only kept it on for about 5 seconds).

2015-03-23 12.40.56

Ulta: Plum Lip Liner. RRP: $3.

Lastly, I got an item which wasn’t even on the card which means I missed out on the concealer which was meant to be worth $27.95. The item I got instead is an airbrush primer which smells TERRIBLE when you spray it, I am definitely not going to use this as it smells like plain chemicals.

2015-03-23 12.40.16

Natural Glamour: Airbrush Face Primer. RRP: doesn’t say.

Sorry for being such a negative nancy, but honestly this was a terrible box with cheap products and I didn’t even get the toiletry bag which would’ve been the best out of everything. Needless to say I have unsubscribed and do not recommend LHI to any of you guys now, they are so unorganised and their boxes are running about a month late with little communication to their consumers.

So I haven’t had a really good experience with beauty subscription boxes which is a shame :(, so I have unsubscribed to box LHI and Violet Box. Anyway, on a more positive note, how have all your days been! 🙂 Once again I apologise for the rant.

Violet Box: Unboxing February 2015

Hi everyone!

So if you read my last violet box post I was appalled by their customer service and wasn’t too happy with the contents of the box. I contacted them to cancel my subscription but they said I couldn’t as it was past the date of cancellations (even though I only received my box that day…) which was so stupid. However, I am somewhat glad they didn’t cancel my subscription as I’m pretty happy with this box – even more happy than I was with my Lust Have It! box last month. This box arrived on the 26th February, which was on time and not late like last time which is a plus (still waiting for my LHI box, don’t have high hopes for that).

* For those of you who don’t know what Violet Box is, it’s a monthly subscription in which you pay $22.95 per month to get a box filled with 4-6 samples (full sized products aren’t guaranteed).

Here is what I got:

2015-02-26 11.32.45

The box changed to this greyish design.

2015-02-26 21.36.51

Everything collectively.

2015-02-26 11.34.19

“Pretty Woman Magnetix Nail Polish”. RRP: $9.99

2015-02-26 12.18.46

Can’t wait to try this out!

2015-02-26 11.34.15

“Natural World Moroccan Argan Oil”. RRP: $5.99

2015-02-26 11.34.53

“Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser” RRP: $46.95 for 120mL. Got the 30mL – $11.70

2015-02-26 13.35.01

This stuff smells really good and has an interest texture – the scent reminds me of coca cola… does anyone else agree?

2015-02-26 11.35.24

“Emite Make Up BB Highlighting Pen”. RRP: $32.

2015-02-26 11.36.06

“Teeez Trend Cosmetics Easy on the Eyes Pencil”. RRP: $26. (How cute is the packaging?)

Total value: $85.70 with 4/5 full products.

I actually am excited about every product except the pencil eyeliner (I think they’re pretty useless because they always smudge and run – also got one in my LHI box last month, however the packaging of this one is adorbs & it’s super creamy). I am especially thrilled with the highlighting BB pen and the magnetic nail polish! I cannot wait to see how the polish turns out, will keep you all posted on that! Just to let you all know I’ve unsubscribed to this box, but after this months box I am slightly regretting it!

What are your thoughts on this box/what did you get in your beauty box last month?

Amy x

UPDATE 7/3/15: Okay, wow guys. I asked them to cancel my subscription on the 5th of Feb and they said they would, then on the 5th of March another payment has been taken out of my bank account. I had also contacted them throughout the month to ensure my subscription was cancelled (they didn’t reply to any so I assumed it was) – this is disgusting service to say the least. I will have to give them a call, I think that’s the only way I’ll be able to cancel. I wouldn’t mind getting another box, but I honestly don’t wish to support such a company which uses dishonest practices to gain money at the expense of the customers or anyone in general. Please be warned if you sign up for this box & call up when you need to cancel.

Lust Have It!: January 2015 Unboxing

*UPDATE AS OF NOW: I’VE BEEN CONSISTENTLY DISAPPOINTED IN LHI’S SERVICE. Please click here to see my review of  their terrible service & be aware!*

Hello guys! So after my disappointing violet box, I still had some hope when I signed up for the Lust Have It! beauty box. In case you’re unsure of what a beauty box is, it’s a monthly subscription to a box filled with 4-6 samples (some full sized) of products which is delivered directly to your door – pretty cool, huh! Anyway, I signed up for the box on 1st of February, but their January boxes were SUPER delayed so I got sent one, which arrived on the 17th February (I wouldn’t be too impressed, however I was expecting to just receive the February box – so it was a bonus for me). This box exceeded my expectations and I was so thrilled to see what was in the box!

2015-02-19 15.07.42

The “box” came in this cute red bag, the material is gorgeous.

2015-02-19 15.08.52

Marsk – Certified Organic Eyeliner in “Pitch Black”. RRP $33.50

I’ve actually used this and the colour pay off is amazing – it is super pigmented and well, black. The only downside to this is that it smudges TERRIBLY after a short amount of time, won’t be getting any use out of this as I tend to steer towards liquid and gel which last longer.

2015-02-19 15.09.19

Designer Brands – Chubby Lipstick Crayon. RRP $7.99.

I LOVE the colour of this lip crayon! It’s like a pinky nude (I’ll have a swatch at the end of the post) – gorgeous colour. I was contemplating whether to buy one in this shade at the shops, but didn’t; instead I opted for a redish one by covergirl, which mind you, absolutely sucks – the colour is way too sheer and was just a big disappointment. Super happy with this product!

2015-02-19 15.09.46

Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in Vanilla Frosting. RRP $24.95.

2015-02-19 15.10.08

This is how the actual colour looks.

The colour of this eyeshadow is super pigmented, shiny and it just beautiful – once again, a product with great colour pay off! Love this one too.

2015-02-19 15.10.38

Avcodo Organic Avacado Oil. RRP $15.99.

Okay, I’ve got a really sad story with this product. I was super stoked when I got this in the box so I was going to use it that night, when I took it into the bathroom I was carrying one too many things in my hands and I dropped it onto the bathroom floor and it completely smashed. I was sooo disappointed because I was looking forward to trying this out :(.

2015-02-19 15.30.15

Urban Skincare Co – Infuse Body Balm. RRP. $12.95.

This body balm smells pretty nice, sort of herbal and lemony. Not too excited about this, but it’s still a reasonable product.

2015-02-19 15.10.22

Colour by TBN. RRP $2.50.

Least excited about this polish as I’m pretty sure it’s a cheap brand and I’ve got the exact same colour already.

2015-02-19 15.21.21

Swatch of the eyeshadow, eyeliner and lip crayon.

I’m totally kicking myself for dropping that avocado oil, ahh man. But I am SUPER impressed with this box and will definitely be continuing my subscription with Lust Have It! I cannot wait to see what the February box has, hopefully that one is not late! My favourite item in the whole box would probably be the lip crayon, I am just obsessed with the colour. Although, I also love the eyeliner and the mineral eyeshadow.

Total value: A whopping $97.88! That’s an amazing value and all the product sizes are pretty big – according to the card only the nail polish and the avocado oil (sob) are full sized though. I would definitely recommend this box (sadly it’s only available to Aussies at the moment) if you’re looking for a new beauty box! I am thrilled to use all the products in this box, with the exception of the nail polish.

* UPDATE: I discovered that the avocado oil was actually expired (I found this out as I was browsing through their facebook page & saw others posting about it) – this is thoroughly disappointing. Would say think twice about getting this box – if this happens again it’s a definite unsubscribe. I have also found this company to be super dishonest and dodgy, in the other box I got they didn’t even send all the items on the card that we were meant to receive – dodge! I have undoubtedly unsubscribed to this box.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post!

Violet Box: January 2015

Hi guys!

So this was my first ever beauty subscription box, the violet box (this box is only available to Australians and New Zealanders). To be quite frank, the box didn’t reach my expectations, especially because I was soo excited to receive it. Their customer service was cringe worthy, I emailed them & tweeted them asking if the violet boxes have been shipped out yet (around the 20th) and they did not even bother replying – I was just curious as their website states they ship mid-month. I have only just received the box on the 4th February, so it is in the next month. On the bright side, I did get $10 off this box and a free brush so that does make up to it a little.

Price: $22.95 (original price without discount)

How the box looked when it arrived:

2015-02-04 15.37.13  2015-02-04 15.38.582015-02-04 15.39.29Here are the items I received:

2015-02-04 15.43.13

Overview

2015-02-04 15.42.00

Lonvitalite 24K Active Gold Yulan Eye Mask – RRP $25.95 (5 pack). Received a single pack = $5.

2015-02-04 15.42.21

The Cosmetic Kitchen Raw Chocolate Clay Mask – RRP $24.95 for 50g. Received the full size product.

2015-02-04 15.42.45

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel – RRP $67 for 50mL. Received a 5mL sample = $6.70

2015-02-04 15.42.29

Mellow Cosmetics Blush – RRP $14. Received the full size product.

2015-02-04 15.42.38

Emite Make Up Precision Eye Pencil – RRP $24.95. Received the full size product.

2015-02-04 15.52.25

A swatch of the eyeliner and blush.

So overall I am not so thrilled with the products as I am not that interested in skin care products (mainly because I am too lazy to use them!) but I think this box would definitely appeal to people who prefer to receive skin care in these boxes. The value was pretty good, it hit a total of $69.20. I am probably the most excited to use the eyeliner pencil as a inner corner highlighter or the under eye mask. I am also curious to see how the 3 minute peel mask works. The blush is a nice, natural looking colour. The least exciting product to me is the chocolate clay mask as I think it will be messy to use – it requires you to mix it in with water before applying it.

I have seen better violet boxes in the past which have been showcased by other bloggers and youtubers and am not that thrilled with this one. Not to mention their customer service was horrible!

Rate: 2/5

Just to let you all know I have already unsubscribed to this box because I don’t think I’d pay $22.95 for another right now also I wasn’t too impressed with their customer service – maybe in the future I will give it another go.

*UGH, quick update they said I can’t cancel until next month because it is past the 3rd… (I emailed them on the 4th, which was the day the box arrived). Super annoying! Also I just opened the longvitalite eye mask to find there’s only ONE in the packet. I think was a mistake though as the package clearly shows it has two – also who gives out eye masks for only one eye! Do not recommend this brand…

I have signed up for the ‘Lust Have It’ beauty box and am excited to try that one – I have high hopes (again)! Will definitely keep you all posted on how that one turns out.

Let me know your thoughts on this box if you’ve tried it before! Also what are your favourite beauty boxes? Am I being too harsh?
