A CLEAR Beauty Sponge?!

Hey guys!

There’s a new, very fascinating product on the markets now called the Silisponge. It’s essentially a small piece of silicon shaped like a sponge which you can use to blend out your makeup. It claims to be much more efficient as it soaks up little to no product, is easy to clean and lasts much longer than a beauty blender. If you’d to know more & see where you can purchase this, please keep reading.

The silisponge claims:

Wasting products is history now cos, of course, it doesn’t soak in a thing! The foundation needed is literally just half the amount compared to directly using brush or sponge. Spreading product with it will take some getting used to, final blending can always be finished with oval brush or usual sponge (for example beautyblender), that means washing the oval brush or the sponge will be minimized and they will last a whole lot longer. It is ideal for people who don’t like messy fingers during makeup. AND I bet you can imagine cleaning THIS APPLICATOR will literally take no more effort than rubbing it with a little soap and rinsing with some luke warm water. If you are a professional makeup artist, can you imagine how exciting it is that you can use it on one client/model, clean it with a makeup remover and sanitizing spray, and then you can use it on another client/model immediately just like that? Throwing away disposable sponge can totally be minimized!!!!

It almost seems like this silicone sponge is only $9USD, which seems like a treat! I am also quite curious to see how effective it is blending out your foundation and cream products. Looking at the instagram video posted by the creators, it seems like it doesn’t blend the product flawlessly, in my opinion, and it appears as if they’re being quite rough in attempt to blend the products out. I think I’ll be waiting a bit until purchasing one to see other people’s thoughts first/more reviews on it since I am happy with my current beauty sponge (I use the Real Techniques one) and I do think this is a bit of a gimmicky product.

This clear sponge definitely seems promising claiming to be easier to wash (much easier, in fact), using MUCH less product and lasting way longer than a beauty blender. It’s currently sold out and definitely trending as of current, I can see why too – okay, honestly I do want to try it out and if I happen to see it in stock I’ll definitely be ordering one!

Let me know your thoughts on this clear makeup sponge, is it a gimmick or worth giving a shot?

  1. I’d be curious to try it, but I don’t know if I really want to add that extra blending step. Maybe I’d use it as a concealer applicator…I don’t know.

  2. They’ve gotten so much attention now since Cosmopolitan did a video on them. They’re selling like hot cakes. The company is from China but it says the material is safe to use and stuff. I’m hoping to snag one just to try it myself. I’m definitely it’s better than the sponges but we’ll see!
