Hi guys!
Today I’ve got a review on the Mary Kay Lip Paradise Calling (limited edition) range which consists of their Lacquered Lip Glosses, Whipped Eye Colours and their Moisturising Spray Lotion. If you’d like to hear my thoughts, please keep reading!
LIP LACQUERS
It claims:
This moisturising, full-coverage gloss offers a rich, super-shiny finish and saturated colour in one simple swipe.
● Glides on easily and applies smoothly and evenly.
● Provides true, lasting colour that does not fade.
● Keeps lips feeling soft, smooth and moisturised.
I’ve recently gained an interest in lip glosses so these were perfect to start out with. I always thought lip glosses were a bit ‘meh’ and didn’t last long, weren’t pigmented, etc, but was definitely proved wrong when I tried out these ones.
PROS
I’ll be honest, I didn’t have very high expectations when I opened up this product because when I took out the applicator of the tube it was quite sticky. However, when I put it on my lips it wasn’t sticky at all (unless you purposely open and close your mouth to see) which is an important thing when looking for a great lip gloss. I also expected this product to wear off quite quickly but to my surprise I found it was SUPER long lasting, obviously the shine does disappear but I’d say the colour would easily last a whole day depending on what you eat; when I reapplied it went on smoothly and didn’t form any clumps. It didn’t fray or bleed into any lines which can be troublesome (I didn’t use any lip liner) and didn’t dry out my lips in the slightest, in fact I found them to be quite moisturising, which is a big statement from myself as I often reapply lip balm every hour (that’s how dry my lips get!). The colours are quite pigmented for lip glosses which was very impressive.
- Moisturising
- Long lasting
- Not sticky
- Easy to apply
- Reapplies nicely
- Didn’t bleed into any lines
- Pigmented
Cons
A con for me is definitely the smell when you first apply the gloss; luckily you can only smell it for a few seconds when you first put it on, after that it’s completely unnoticeable. Also after a few hours I found that it began to form little clumps of product on the sides of my lips which I had to rub off.
- The smell at first
- Formed small clumps of product after a few hours
These lip glosses are available for $24 on the Mary Kay website for a limited time only!
WHIPPED EYE COLOUR
It claims:
Lightweight, whipped formula glides on smoothly and blends seamlessly for rich colour that lasts all day.
● Luxurious, luminous finish.
● Rich colour with true-colour payoff.
● Applies easily and evenly.
● Blendable and buildable.
● Crease- and fade-resistant.
PROS
I thought these were similar to the Maybelline Colour Dramas but when I thought the actual product it was super soft and creamy. It was super easy to apply to my eyelids and blend out, much easier than my colour dramas – not to mention these are crazy pigmented; a little goes a long way. The colours are gorgeous and vibrant and are buildable. I also found that if you accidentally wipe your eye the product doesn’t really transfer, only a little.
- Pigmented
- Minimal transfer when touched
- Soft and creamy
- Easy to blend and apply
CONS
I have super oily semi-monolids and found that these didn’t really agree with them. In less than half an hour I found that the product sort of ‘broke down’ where my eyelids fold, however it is only visible when I squint my eyes and is not THAT bad. I even tried it with a primer and it made no difference. I do feel as if if you don’t have monolids that this product would be fine, even if your eyelids are somewhat oily. If you don’t have oily eyelids at all, these would be perfect for you.
- Not the best for oily lids
These Whipped Eye Colours are available for $24 on the Mary Kay website for a limited time only!
MOISTURISING SPRAY LOTION
It claims:
Refresh your skin and your senses with this moisturizing spray lotion in a delightful coconut water scent.
● Feels moisturising, cooling and refreshing.
● Lightweight formula dries quickly to an invisible finish.
● Not sticky or greasy.
● Energises skin.
● Leaves skin feeling smooth, supple and soft.
PROS
It comes in beautiful aqua packaging and with a lid. I like that it’s a spray moisturiser meaning that it’s light on the skin and easy to use. The product when sprayed absorbs super fast into your skin and doesn’t leave a sticky finish. It leaves your skin feeling moisturised and refreshed. I find the smell to be neutral – neither good nor bad, you can’t smell it once the product absorbs.
- Travel friendly
- Light on the skin
- Absorbs in seconds
- Moisturises
- Doesn’t leave a sticky finish
- Refreshing
These Moisturising Spray Lotion is available for $25 on the Mary Kay website for a limited time only!
Hope you guys enjoyed my review on the Mary Kay Paradise Calling range! My favourite lip colour would definitely have to be Sunbaked and my favourite eye shadow would be Tiki hut.

Did you know that the Mary Kay makeup setting spray is developed by Skindinavia? Their foundations and powders aren’t nothing to shout about though. The Tiki Hut whipped eye colour looks a lot like one Charlotte Tilbury has…

Oooh really? That’s cool. And yeah it’s similar to one of the colour tattoos too but is more pigmented haha!

Mary Kay makeup is so underrated! I especially like their powder eye shadows. I’ve had a couple of their cream eye shadows and you’re right, they’re not the best for oily lids but if I put a primer on first, they last better. Thanks for reviewing this limited edition collection – love those lip glosses.

I love the tropical mandarin lip lacquer and a nice coppery shade of tikki hut from the whipped eye colour. Both looks so gorgeous.
