Review: Garnier Goodbye Dry Gentle Cleansing Milk

2015-09-16 17_Fotor1233

Hi guys!

Today I’ve got a review for y’all and it’s on the Garnier Goodbye Dry Gentle Cleansing Milk which is a makeup remover similar to their micellar water but with a milky consistency. I can also safely say I didn’t like it nearly as much as their micellar water. Anyway on to the review!

It claims:

Garnier Skin Naturals Moisture Match Goodbye Dry Cleansing Milk is a rich and creamy cleansing milk that helps to remove make-up and leaves skin feeling nourished and moisturised. The cleansing milk has been formulated with a nourishing blend of omega 3 and 6, shea butter, and camellia oil, which melts into the skin leaving it feeling soft and silky.

Price: $7.99

Pros:

It has a nice scent and does a half decent job removing leftover makeup on your face.

  • Nice scent

Cons:

I was drawn to purchase this product as it claimed to be gentle on dry skin and the skin around my eyes can get dry and irritated if I rub them too much when removing my eye makeup so thought I’d give this a go. However, I was so wrong. Instead of being gentle, due to its thick and creamy consistency it gets into your eyes and stings like heck! To avoid this you need to put a minimal amount on a cotton pad, but here’s the next problem: due to the consistency, yet again, it barely absorbs into the cotton pad unless you fold it in half and force it to. Once again, if you put too much on it will just make the cotton pad soaked and your eyes will sting when you try remove your eye makeup. I find that it doesn’t remove eye makeup as well as the Garnier Micellar Water (click here for a review on that) which is a shame. I also find after use it leaves a slimy, sticking feeling all over your face so I definitely recommend showering straight after you use this.

  • Consistency is a let down: does not absorb easily into a cotton pad
  • Stings eyes
  • NOT gentle on eyes as it claims
  • Doesn’t remove eye makeup effectively
  • Leaves a slimy/sticky consistency on your skin after use

Price point: 3/5 (although I think this isn’t worth any money it is affordable)

Effectiveness: 1.5/5

Overall rating: 1/5

Recommend/repurchase?

Definitely NOT. I really do not like this product and think it’s a complete waste of money, I’d definitely stick with their micellar water. I only use it to remove any leftover makeup that may be on my skin after using the micellar water or makeup remover wipes. I will not be repurchasing this.

Check my “About” if you’d like to know details about my age group, skin type, etc which could help you gauge the effectiveness of this product on your own skin.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed my sort of ‘rant’ review, however I am just being completely honest. I guess this product may work for others but it just didn’t cut it for me. Have a great day/night guys!

  1. I was intrigued when I first read the name of the product, but I’m glad I read through your review… what a let down :/ (the product, not your review lol the review was super helpful!)

  2. Aw when I saw this I was thinking it’d be good and something new I’d like to try! But I guess not! It’s too bad it didn’t work out! I hate buying things that are affordable and don’t work out because I hate throwing things out when they’re like new and then I’m like “ehh..what am I supposed to do with it…guess I found myself a new paperweight!.” haha
