Hi guys!
Today I’ll be unboxing and reviewing my first ever Bellabox which arrived on my door step yesterday. I had high expectations and hopes especially because this is their Birthday Box, however they weren’t really met! I’m not sure if I’m just too fussy or whatever, but keep on reading if you’d like to know what was in the box. I also apologise in advance for the semi-fail photos.
The Bellabox costs $15 a month + $2.95 shipping and is a monthly beauty subscription service for those of you who didn’t know. That means they basically deliver products, full sized or samples to your door step every month.
From left to right: Avene Skin Recovery Cream, Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion, Macadamia Luxurious Oil Treatment and Baimeni Hydrating Eye & Face Serum.
We got a range of skincare samples which is okay, but I’d much prefer just one full size than four minis because you don’t really get a feel of how the product works, but that’s just me. I’m sure others would prefer to try out heaps of different products rather than just get one full size, it’s all personal preference.
I’m not really excited about any of these products but do love the cute tiny packaging the last one came in. It does make me wonder whether or not the cost of producing the mini packaging is even worth it in the end… it’s probably worth more than the product itself.
My skin doesn’t really need ‘recovery’ or anything and you’re apparently meant to use it on irritated skin, not that excited with it. You could probably get 2-3 uses out of it if you uses it sparingly.
Getting body moisturiser is extremely boring to get but I guess it’s great for travel and I’ll just use it as a hand cream.
I am curious to see if the little Baimeni product will do anything.
From top to bottom: Model Co Shine Ultra Lip Gloss and Coastal Scents Eye Shadow Quad.
Now onto the makeup we got in the box. The lip gloss by Model Co was the only full size product. I do love the packaging and the fact that it has a mirror on it as well as the scent, it smells just like strawberry flavoured lollies. As for the colour pay off, it is close to being a clear lip gloss which was disappointing; it doesn’t even show up on my lips but when swatched on your hand has a slight pink tint. I do like that it doesn’t feel sticky on the lips though.
Lastly I got a Coastal Scents Eyeshadow Quad, and can I say the packaging is horrendous, it’s literally held in plastic and looks like it’s on display. The pigmentation is quite good and I can make use out of the two browns in the quad.
That concludes this little unboxing! Let me know if I’m just being fussy but yeah, I wasn’t overly impressed by Bellabox and have unsubscribed. They do have their “All-star” box coming out soon which I may purchase though as it’s meant to be all their ‘best’ products.
A definite pro is that the box actually came in quite early in October unlike the other boxes I’ve tried such as Lust Have It! who decided it would be great to deliver for example an October box midway through November (click here if you’d like to see my rant about them).
Hope you guys enjoyed this post and let me know if you’d be underwhelmed too or whether you’d be quite happy with this box.
Amy x

This is exactly the same as what I got in my box and I was a bit underwhelmed with it too. Normally there’s a couple of things at least that I get excited about but as a birthday box this one didn’t really have the “wow” factor I had been expecting!

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks that! Was pretty disappointed since this is their birthday box as you said :(. xx

Hi, I liked your review and blog. The lip gloss was the best part of the package for me. I Like the mirror on it, cool little gimmick. I started a new beauty and lifestyle blog last week. Please check it out 🙂

This definitely is underwhelming! Especially for that price… have you tried Ipsy? I’ve been doing it for a few months and am always satisfied! Plus it’s only $10/month and it’s customizable. I have a reference code if you wanna check it out!

Oh no seems super blahhhhh. Definitely lacking that “Oh em gee. My panties are knots because I’m super stoked to use all or some of you” factor haha. Hopefully next month is more promising.

I remember your dilemma on twitter over this.
The price isn’t too bad for all those samples…and those products minus the eye shadow are right up my alley..
Guess what..I think I may just order my first Bellabox 😀

I’ve seen one box where it was literally just creams and the coastal scents as the only makeup piece. My main concern is the amount of products being damaged on arrival…I think companies need sturdy packaging, especially with products like eyeshadow. Hope mine arrives without any issues inside! I haven’t seen an ‘amazing’ box yet, however some are better than others. Love the look of the lip gloss and the way it’s packaged though.

Yeah I agree, I’m kind of surprised the eyeshadows weren’t broken at all. It is a ‘meh’ box but as you said I do love the packaging of the lip gloss haha. xx
