Hi everyone,
So I’ve got a review for y’all on the Tony Moly Egg Pore Blackhead Out Gel & Egg Pore Tightening Pack which I know some of you were curious about, so here it is! I was in the city with my friends last holiday and walked past a stand up Korean cosmetics store and saw these being advertised. There was a deal going on for 3 for $40 which was deemed to be quite cheap – unfortunately they didn’t have the third egg in stock (the “Silky Smooth Balm”) so I wasn’t able to get my hands on that. I believe these are designed to be used as a three step procedure: the removal of blackheads, the sealing and then the ‘polishing’ off. Here’s a picture of how they look:
First I’ll do a quick review on the blackhead out gel:
Price: $18
Pros:
This product did work for me as it removed some blackheads but not all. After the first use my nose was noticeably smoother to the touch which was really impressive & my nose had less visible blackheads. The product has a subtle scent to it, I’m not sure how to describe it but it’s neither pleasant nor unpleasant. I believe if you continue to use this product frequently it would definitely remove most of your blackheads (I just am not bothered every night) – I used it for four nights in a row and now I’m just using it on and off when I feel I need to. The results are really quite impressive!
- Effectively removes blackheads
- Smooths out nose
Cons:
The main con for me is using the product – it requires you to rub the product into the desired places for 3-5minutes versus blackhead strips which you can just slap on and continue doing other things. If you’ve got time this is fine but gets annoying night after night (note this is only a minor con). The consistency of this product is quite runny and therefore slips around in the container making it quite messy when you try take it out or if you accidentally knock the product over – I don’t recommend carrying this around while you travel. The last con I have is the packaging, although it’s cute it’s also deceiving; once you unscrew the lid the product is in a little jar which is almost less than half the size of the lid (if that makes sense) but still comes with an okay amount of product.
- Requires you to rub it in continuously for at least 3 minutes
- Can be messy to use
- Deceiving packaging
Rate: 4/5
Now on to the tightening pack:
Price: $18
Pros:
The consistency has a nice, buttery feel which makes it easy to apply to your nose. After use, I do notice that my pores seem smaller which is awesome – I use this on my nose and my cheeks where my pores are the largest. I feel as if this step is crucial after you use the blackhead out gel as that product leaves small dots/craters on your nose where the blackhead was previously. Another great thing about this is that you can just apply it and leave it on your nose to wash off 15-20 minutes later.
- Nice consistency
- Effectively reduces pore size
- Easy to use
- Secure packaging
Cons:
I can’t think of any cons for this product except for the fact that it is a bit pricey.
- A little pricey
Rate: 4/5
Recommend? (Verdict for both products)
I am overall super impressed with these products especially the blackhead out gel – I definitely think it’s worth trying out! I found it worked better than the Biore blackhead strips I’ve used in the past. The results I’ve got makes me a happy person and I look forward to trying other products from Tony Moly!
Let me know your must have skincare item or thoughts on this product if you’ve tried it! Hope you guys enjoyed this review.

I’ve seen these products around before and found the packaging adorable, and judging by your review, I might have to give them a try because I’m not too keen on my pretty visible blackheads and pores.

I tried the nose strip version of Egg Pore before but of course it is not as cute as that container. Mostly, I tried their masks and the Panda Dark Eye Corrector

the packaging is adorable! But I totally agree with you on that pore strips are easier and multitasking. I’m not really a fan of even face masks that you need to rub in. I just want to put it on and let it sit

Oh my! The packaging is ultra cute even though it comes in an egg shape; almost looks like a toy! Great review Amy … but oh em gee I cannot for the life of me sit there and rub in a mask for three minutes; way to lazy for that business hahaha!
