Unboxing: Lust Have It! February Box.

Hi guys,

So I FINALLY received my Lust Have It! box about last week, which was half way through March already which was really annoying. It would have made it up if the contents of the box was somewhat good, however it was terrible, especially when compared to last months’ box. More so, I didn’t receive mine in the toiletry bag which is a let down because I was actually looking forward to having another and I had a missing item.

* For those of you who don’t know what Violet Box is, it’s a monthly subscription in which you pay $22.95 per month to get a box filled with 4-6 samples (full sized products aren’t guaranteed).

2015-03-23 12.39.43So I received this foundation which is way too light for me, as I normally am a medium and had that in my profile which is super disappointing. I also went on their facebook page and they were clearing this foundation off for $10, so this RRP is a bit misleading. Not to mention this smells horrible like plastic.

Natural Glamour Foundation in ‘Light’. RRP: $29.95.

The brush of this liquid liner is really flimsy so it’s hard to draw a precise line, don’t think I’ll be using this because I’ve got my Rimmel one which is, needless to say, much better.

Designer Brands: Liquid Eye Liner. RRP: $8.99

Probably the only item I am mildly excited about in the box which is a deluxe sample. It claims to ‘exfoliate the skin’s surface and inside the pores which improves skin cell turnover rate’. So will definitely try this out.

Paula’s Choice Skincare: Skin Perfecting BHA Liquid Exfoliate. RRP (of 30mL sample): $12.

We received an Ulta lip liner, which is a cheap, pharmacy brand in Australia. My lips are super sensitive and when I put this on stupidly, it make my lips sting after I removed it (note, I only kept it on for about 5 seconds).

Lastly, I got an item which wasn’t even on the card which means I missed out on the concealer which was meant to be worth $27.95. The item I got instead is an airbrush primer which smells TERRIBLE when you spray it, I am definitely not going to use this as it smells like plain chemicals.

Sorry for being such a negative nancy, but honestly this was a terrible box with cheap products and I didn’t even get the toiletry bag which would’ve been the best out of everything. Needless to say I have unsubscribed and do not recommend LHI to any of you guys now, they are so unorganised and their boxes are running about a month late with little communication to their consumers.

So I haven’t had a really good experience with beauty subscription boxes which is a shame :(, so I have unsubscribed to box LHI and Violet Box. Anyway, on a more positive note, how have all your days been! 🙂 Once again I apologise for the rant.

  1. It’s sad when a box let’s you down. 😦 Enjoy the Paula’s choice BHA though…I use it every day as part of my evening skincare routine and it has made a massive difference to my skin.

      1. I pat it on my face and neck after cleansing and drying it. It tingles a bit…avoid the eye area. After about 20 mins I follow with my night cream. It’s helped my pores become smaller and my skin smoother. 🙂

  3. Oh, too bad you didn’t like your box. I read about everyone’s subscription boxes and I’m always tempted but overall, I feel like the “hit rate” is less than 50%… so I’d rather just use my money to buy exactly what I want, rather than having some stranger “curate” a selection for me (and more likely they’re just shrilling products)
    PS. That Paula’s Choice BHA liquid is quite good! It’s helpful to prevent blemishes. I use it regularly.

    1. Yeah it’s a shame that’s it’s often a miss, and for that very reason I unsubscribed to all of them because like you said I’d rather spend that money on something I want and will like for sure. Hehe that’s awesome to hear, at least one product may be useful!

  4. Have you ever tried the IPSY bag? I’ve been getting it for three months so far and have yet to be disappointed! It comes with a little makeup bag each month as well for roughly the same price!

  6. I have to agree. After seeing people boast about LHI I was skeptic just trying it out. Luckily I received my first box for $10. After unboxing it, I got everything you have but not the Airbrush primer. I got the Natural Glamour concealer in ‘medium’. Honestly, the only thing I liked was the pink mesh beauty bag and Paula’s Choice exfoliant. I’ve been using that every day and definitely works on my skin to reduce pores. I don’t like any of the other products, especially the Natural Glamour products since they all had this awful scent. I’ve unsubscribed too. Such a disappointing LHI box. I haven’t tried out the other boxes but am considering..

    1. You’re lucky you even got a bag, that would’ve been the best thing in there, haha. It’s such a shame! I’ve unsubscribed to all of them now because I’m more often disappointed than not. Maybe violet box but that one is a gamble too, I had one average box and one pretty good one.

  8. I loooove Paula’s Choice’s BHA gel, I use it every night and it’s not too irritating and whereas other products misuse BHA (put it with chemicals that nullify it, etc) this has the appropriate % and so on. You’ll love it!
